Cruise Past The Gas Stations

The 2023 Subaru Solterra engine includes two 80-kilowatt motors with 215 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque. This system powers the Solterra from zero to 60 in 6.5 seconds. The two motors combine for an estimated driving range of 228 miles. Drivers can increase their range using one-pedal driving and regenerative braking technology. While the Solterra doesn’t use fuel, it has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 104 MPGe.

Drivers can use three types of charging stations to power up the Solterra. The fastest charge times come from DC Fast Charging Level 3 Stations that fill the Solterra’s battery to 80% in under an hour. With an at-home Level 2 charger, the Solterra battery fills up in about nine hours.

Subaru added several off-roading features to the Solterra like 8.3 inches of ground clearance to better handle rough terrain. The Solterra has X-Mode with Hill Ascent and Descent Assist for an impressive ride in rugged trail conditions.

Safety Features Enhance Solterra’s Performance

In the typical Subaru style, the Solterra comes standard with impressive safety features. Subaru outfits all trims with the EyeSight Driver Assistive Technology that includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Emergency Steering Assist, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Intersection Collision Avoidance, Pedestrian Detection, Forward and Reverse Automatic Emergency Braking, Vehicle Exit Warning, Rear Seat Reminder, and a Rearview Camera.

Subaru adds Surround-View Parking Camera System, Parking Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Rain-Sensing Wipers to the Limited and Touring trims. All trims come with LED headlights.

Along with outstanding safety features, the Solterra is loaded with infotainment technology. The Premium trim includes a 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, five USB ports, and HD Radio. The Limited and Touring trims have a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless device charging, navigation, HomeLink, and a Harman Kardon audio system.

For convenience, the Solterra has 30 cubic feet of cargo space and seating for five. It also comes standard with heated front seats and heated exterior mirrors.
